Bullhead City

Located on the east side of the Colorado River near the juncture of Arizona, California and Nevada

HISTORY

Bullhead City is one of Arizona's fastest growing communities. The sister city to Laughlin, Nevada, across the river, Bullhead City was established in the 1940s as the headquarters during construction of the Davis Dam and Powerplant. The sunny vacation community draws families and retirees all year long, whether they want to escape the winter cold, have fun in the area's vast water recreation, or enjoy the legal gaming in Laughlin casinos.

BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY

Bullhead City is the economic hub and retail-shopping center for Western Mohave County and Southeastern Clark County, Nevada. Tourism, centering around the resorts and casinos in neighboring Laughlin, is the primary economic activity in Bullhead City. The two communities are connected by two bridges over the Colorado River. Shopping malls, supermarkets and other retailers serve the Bullhead City/Laughlin market with more than five million people traveling to the area every year.
